I still would like to do this. starting at 10th level is kind of odd - as I have not watched/helped the characters "grow up".

So this will give me some stuff to wrap into the storyline.

I think something got deleted, because I don't know what you're asking. Do you want backstory?

I want to try something for Season 4 (yoinked from Morganthaler)

each player must create and briefly describe 3 NPCs related to each of your characters. 1 of the 3 must be a rival.

This is not more ammo for Screwberron. Very Happy

But, with all new characters, it will help me tie each character into the story. Hopefully adding to the versim....err fun.

OK, but only because you promised that it's not ammo for Screwberron. Very Happy

I think one of the NPCs should have something to do with why the PC is a member of the Citadel.

Beacon's three:

Breakstone-a warforged from Beacon's old unit. Probably Beacon's best friend from the War. Unfortunately, Breakstone has made a lot of bad decisions, and had a run of bad luck. He's constantly in trouble with the law for petty crimes and barfights. He's not a bad person, he just makes bad choices. He's usually in Sharn, but sometimes disappears when the law is looking for him. He trusts Beacon, even though he doesn't like the lectures. Beacon is always trying to watch out for Breakstone, and hopefully set him on the right path.

Laurentia-a moderately famous halfling artist who "adopted" Beacon for a time after the War ended. Beacon helped her fix a broken wagon, and, taking pity on him, she brought him into her house. She's basically Beacon's mother figure. She taught him to appreciate art, and because of her he learned to respect the other races, and the nation of Breland. She lives in Wroat with her many children. Her connections with the royal family (King Boranel owns several of her pieces) eventually led to Beacon's recruitment into the Citadel.

Arcturus Kant-A member of the Citadel a few ranks higher than Beacon. Arcturus doesn't trust warforged in general, and, being a fervent worshipper of the Sovereign Host, he especially doesn't trust Beacon and his noble but nondenominational ideals. Arcturus is not a villain, he's just a bigot and a bit of pompous ass.

I like that.

New

Each player must create and briefly describe 3 NPCs related to each of your characters. 1 of the 3 must be a rival. One of them must be a link to why your character joined The Citadel.

Branimir's three:

Gastimar Venn-Branimir's teacher and mentor. Another abjurer, Gastimar took Branimir under his wing at the Academy. Calm and reserved, Gastimar taught Branimir how to face danger without panicking and to always maintain a strong defense. His guidance and advice led Branimir to seek entry into the Citadel. Gastimar still teaches at the Academy in Sharn and occassionally consults with the Citadel about defenses and wards in high security areas.

Argus Five-Hammers-A skilled dwarf engineer and stonemason in the employ of House Kundarak. Branimir's fascination with defense led him to seek out Argus, who was involved in the construction of many of House Kundarak's vaults and fortresses. Both have a healthy respect for the other, and they often have long, boring technical discussions when Argus is in town. Argus often travels to construction sites throughout the Five Kingdoms, though he has an apartment in the House enclave in Sharn and a home in the Mror Holds.

Corvus d'Lyrandar-An arrogant half elf and scion of House Lyrandar. He was a classmate at the Academy, and a skilled Evoker with a penchant for storm and lighting spells. Branimir fought an unsanctioned duel with him in his final year. The duel was a stalemate after Branimir countered or dispelled every spell Corvus threw at him. Branimir counts it as a victory, and Corvus has hated him ever since. Though Corvus does not have a dragonmark, his skills have allowed him to advance quickly in House Lyrandar. He often travels to various House enclaves throughout the Five Kingdoms.

Schyan - Shifter (formerly Human) Cleric of the Silver Flame

Caord - a highly ranked Puritan in the Silver Flame. It was Caord who first discovered that Schyan was a lycanthrope; that discovery launched Caord's relentless quest to find and kill the evil beast. Though wise and intelligent, Caord does not think clearly when it comes to Schyan. Caord's impulse to kill Schyan seems to override any logic or reason when his quarry is in sight....

Dar Leinad - a skilled man-at-arms. Dar crossed paths with Schyan during the war. Dar's unit had been ambushed and left for dead. Schyan stumbled onto the massacre site shortly after the attack, but could save only Dar. After patching up the warrior, the two travelled together. After a week, Dar grew suspicious of Schyan's increasingly erratic behavior and when the cleric insisted they part ways, Dar agreed. However, he then tailed the cleric and soon learned Schyan's secret. Terrified, but rather impressed by Schyan's alternate form, Dar woke the sleeping man the next morning and offered a deal. If Schyan would accompany him for the rest of his journey, Dar would contact a powerful friend about a possible cure for his condition. Unbeknownst to Schyan, the journey was now a series of tests and the "friend" turned out to be Dar's superior officer in the Citadel. The cure, alas, was not perfect.

The Underfoot family, especially Kep Hadley Underfoot - The Underfoots are a Talenta halfling family which became "civilized" many generations ago when they moved (or fled?) to Zilargo. They have since prospered as a small air transport company. While on assignment for the Citadel, Schyan has used their air transport service several times. Over the course of these encounters, he has become a good friend to the family, helping them out when he can (sending business their way, working as a guard on transport runs, etc.). In return, they have helped him--hiding the cleric if Caord was hot on his trail. While most of the family works in offices managing their company, Kep actually flies the ships and, thus, has spend the most time with Schyan. Kep has even seen Schyan "shift" during a battle against air pirates, but told no one what he saw--not even his own family. Schyan values Kep's friendship almost as much as he values Kep's discretion.

Jogni - Human Beguiler

Erm Pleasantson - The Citadel did not chose Jogni; he chose them. Jogni believes his talents would be useful to the organization. Jogni is very patient; once he encountered someone he suspected to be a Citadel agent, the he did much investigative work to confirm his suspicions. Then, he approached the agent about joining the organization. That agent, Erm, was rather taken aback and first considered terminating the "intruder." Jogni's skills proved so useful, however, that Pleasantson decided to introduce Jogni to his superiors--before the newcomer switched sides (whatever that "side" may have been at that particular moment in Jogni's life). Jogni has had only occasional contact with Erm since then, which is unfortunate (from Jogni's perspective), since Mr. Pleasantson's mind was so pliable....

That asshole - Jogni won't even dignify "that asshole" with a name, but everyone else knows him as the artificer Gerbiit. Anyone who must stoop to make items to gain magical power, reasons Jogni, is not a true master of the arcane arts. Gerbiit holds the opposite position--those who rely only on their own minds are missing out on true power. Their long-standing dispute burns so hotly that neither man can remember the initial cause. They both know, however, that great joy can only be had by the public humiliation of the other.

Mes - Jogni's girl. She does not know about his "employment" with the Citadel, but other than that the two have no secrets. Unlike Jogni, Mes has no natural aptitude for the arcane arts. She must "learn" spells by intense study. Jogni finds the process baffling, but is impressed by what Mes has learned. He is especially in awe of her mastery of the other schools of magic--she can do things he simply can not even attempt.

Oh boy.

Also, a nitpicky versimilitude-y (he said it again!) thing. I don't know if halflings can fly the airships. I think you have to have the Mark of Storm (i.e. a half-elf) in order to do it.
