So far:
1st (4 known)-Shield, Magic Missile, Grease, ?
2nd (4 known)-Resist Energy, ?,?,?
3rd (5 known)-Dispel Magic, Fly, Magic Circle against Evil, ?,?
4th (5 known)-Wall of Fire, ?,?,?,?
5th (4 known)-Wall of Force,?,?,?
His prohibited schools are Enchantment, Illusion, and Necromancy.
I'm thinking of Duelward from SPC for 5th, but I have to check the rules. |
A few suggestions:
Lesser/regular/Greater Orb spells (they are Evocation, but require Ranged Touch roll). Pick some to cover areas not covered by other spells. Maybe Sonic orb (or lesser orb)?
Repair Damage - you might want one of these for our warforged friend. If you don't want to pick it now, I'm sure Kevros would sell you a scroll of it--cheap!
Summon Monster -- is always good, just to throw more critters when the fighters are in trouble or a rogue needs to flank (but I don't think we have a rogue). Of course, fighers will also love the +2 to hit from a flanking critter.
Some level-specific suggestions:
1st (4 known)-Shield, Magic Missile, Grease, Enlarge Person, Expeditious Retreat or Swift Exp. Retreat
2nd (4 known)-Resist Energy, ?,?,? Glitterdust is essential, Fog Cloud, Ice Knife, Web!! (jk!), See Invisibility, Spider Climb, stat buff spells,
3rd (5 known)-Dispel Magic, Fly, Magic Circle against Evil, ?,? Stinking Cloud is essential, Bands of Steel, Haste, Gaseous Form, Tongues
4th (5 known)-Wall of Fire, ?,?,?,? Dimension Door is essential, Stoneskin, Evard's Black Anti-Climax!! (jk again!), Orb spells go here.
5th (4 known)-Wall of Force,?,?,? Teleport, Greater Blink, Baleful Polymorph, Wall of Stone, Arc of Lightning, Break Enchantment _________________ "My farts smell like oil." - KidVerisimilitude, deep-immersive role played warforged

Sounds good to me.

Well, that sounds a little more lawful neutral than I would play it. The King and Country part would include some lofty, patriotic ideals. He is still a paladin, after all. |
Does that include blinders and selective history? _________________ "Your ideas intrigue me. I would like to subscribe to your newsletter." - Homer Simpson |

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. He tries to avoid shifting at all times. But sometimes, when he's really stressed out.... think "Incredible Hulk" (the t.v. show, not the movie ). _________________ "My farts smell like oil." - KidVerisimilitude, deep-immersive role played warforged

OK, how's this for spells:
1- Shield, Magic Missile, Grease, Mage Armor
2- Resist Energy, Glitterdust, Arcane Turmoil (CM), Fog Cloud
3- Dispel Magic, Fly, Magic Circle Against Evil, Stinking Cloud, Sound Lance
4- Wall of Fire, Dimension Door, Mass Resist Energy (abj), Lesser Globe of Invulnerability, Orb of Force
5- Wall of Force, Arc of Lightning, Break Enchantment, Spell Theft (CS)

How long does Mass Fly last?

| Mass Fly is minutes/level. Spell Theft is basically a targeted dispel that transfers spells to the caster. So if you have Mage Armor running and I Spell Theft you, I would get Mage Armor. |

| I'm swapping Mass Fly for Break Enchantment. I only have two non-abjuration spell slots, so I probably wouldn't take Mass Fly anyway. |
